One race.

Is Interracial really a good word? I mean people tend categorize humans into diffrent races. And that is false. There is not several races in the human nature - there's only one and that is - the human race. That's why it is a bit strange to use words like "interracial". But I guess the meaning of the word is necessary to state what we are talking about. And still the "interracial" thing is a very beautiful thing.

We are "One race" and I am grateful that You get that and celebrate it on your site. I know you'll be blessed with a wonderful&tremendous "Black" woman in your life. It's all about the law of attraction and you are putting out so much good/vibrations into the universe, it will return all the good vibes!
Peace,

We're all the same species. But personally I don't see anything wrong with racial categories .We are different. That's not a bad thing. It's only a bad thing when people start seeing these differences through an inferiority/superiority lense. This creates racism.

My five-year-old son has asked me "What am I?" I've told him that he has the best of both worlds--having a White, European Father and a Black American Mother-- he's multicultural and he should be proud of that. Unfortunately, here in the States, there is pressure to "Choose" sides when a child gets older.

Hello. I am new to this blog. It's really sweet!
My husband is white (I live in Chicago.) He doesn't like the term "interracial" either because it sounds like we're from different planets--like "intergalactic" or something. We prefer "multicultural".

And did you know that in the U.S., interracial marriage was against the law (ESPECIALLY black/white unions) in 17 states up until 1967. Mildred and Richard Loving (and black woman and white man) went to prison for getting married in Virginia. They were then not allowed back into their home state for decades until they sued the state. It went all the way to the Supreme Ct where they struck down all laws forbidding interracial marriage. It was made into a TV movie about 14 years ago. I'm not sure if you have access to it. But, it's sweet.
