Nollywood

Just doin a little reading and research about Nollywood - Nigerian movie industry in mainly Lagos. Kinda interesting to watch. It's like a huuuge movie industry (like the indian Bollywood!). Apperently there are even a tv channel in the States that only broadcast movies from Nigeria... Wish I had that channel here! :D And many beautiful actresses there in Lagos!

VIDEO: Black Women & their Children Bleaching their skin

Just got this video clip. From Tyra Banks Show. My opinion is, I think this is really sad. And scary. Why bleach your skin to look more white?! What do you all think of this?!

Take a look at: Tyra Banks Show

BIG-UP 2: Sally Nyolo

Thanks Haters - remember Quiana & Jan Pawel!

This Big-up goes out to all my Haters! Thanks for reading my blog and putting so much of your time to comment on my posts. You give me the strength to go on and on and on... YOUTUBE: Kat Williams

And Second, I wanna take the time to remember Quiana Jenkins-Pietrzak and Jan Pawel Pietrzak. They got brutally murdered last year. For no reason, some might say. And that is true. It was a meaningless murder. But the got brutally murdered becuase of their love. The love for each other. And the hate, for their love, from other people.

Lately this blog has got some posters that are so full of hate, it's almost scary. They are so inwards and cut out of reality that it I can't beleive it. Lucky me Im not that shut off.

This blog is in some comments compared to KKK (Ku Kux Klan) and the Slave Traders. And even though I found this very disgusting, it's still a measurement for how controversial my topics are in this modern soceity. And it's a measurement for how important it is to discuss these topics - in a civilized way.

And for the Third, I wanna thank all of my readers who show me so much love and support

This blog is about LOVE, not hate! Remember that.

Beautiful story.

Just got this e-mail! Had to post it here! Thats a beautiful story.
And to comment the email: Yeah, Im aware my blog is a bit superficial! :) But it's all about love, so... :)

"I'm a black girl, aged 23 and live in South Africa. Over the years I never dreamed that I would ever find white men attractive. I'd never considered myself racist but I'd made a conscious decision to date only black men, simply because I believed I didn't find white men attractive. So, it was really awkward for me when a white guy from my class asked me out. I mean, I didn't want to be rude but I really wished he could just leave me alone. Anyways, my discomfort lasted for about 3 days. Two weeks later I kissed him and I'm sooooooooo glad I did. We're engaged and getting married a week from now but it is not easy. South Africa has come a long way since apartheid and racist laws but people still stare at us. Worse still, is the fact that some of the black people I know are now convinced that I'm the so-called "coconut" (white person in a black person's skin). It's awful having to justify loving another human being just because he's got a skin colour different to yours.

I don't really understand your reason for what you're doing and to be honest, I do feel like it's a bit superficial at times, but the truth is, I looked for and found *blackisbeautiful* when I was confused and trying to understand how I could suddenly have feelings for a white boy. Somehow, you made me understand that it was ok to love him. I want to say thank you for
whatever you're doing because I truly am happy with him."

Moses had a Black Wife

Even in Art history and in the Old testament there has been a love for the Black Woman. Though it has been "cover" down and "disappered" throughout the history.

I just love Jacob Jordaens way of portaiting black women in his art. Jordaens (1593-1678) was a dutch painter and along with his "sidekick" Rubens they really put the black people in art, in a whole new positive way.

My favorite picture is Jordaens painting of Moses and his Ethiopian wife. The picture is so striking and so unexpected. I mean that must have been a "controversial" painting back then. But I love it. It's like Moses wants us to look behind him at the person he's protecting. She has an egyptian sunhat on, but it's painted to look like a gloria.

The Bible there is one reference to Moses having an Ethiopian Wide. I guess many theologians cant stand that idea, so over the years she has "disappered". The Bible is even talkin about Moses sister and brother who where upset that Moses had an black wife. But God punished them.

I like Jordaens way of letting us know about Moses Ethiopian Wife. And that she is one of us.

So you see, there are love for the Black Woman. Even the mighty Moses had a beautiful black wife! :)

PS: Last summer there was an exhibition in Amsterdam called "Black is Beautiful: Rubens to Dumas" showed a wide-ranging selection of paintings of blacks made by Netherlandish and contemporary Dutch painters.

Mature & Beautiful

It's interesting. According to me Black women don't get less attractive the older they get. And I can't say the same about white women. But I guess it's all clear why I think like I think. After all I run this blog! :)

In Photo: 3 beautiful black women in the age of 45-55. :)

Fact of the Day

FACT OF THE DAY:
  • Multiracial children are one of the fastest growing segments of the U.S. population. The number of mixed-race families in America is steadily increasing, due to a rise in interracial marriages and relationships, as well as an increase in transracial and international adoptions.
  • About two million American children have parents of difference races.

BIG-UP 2: Interracial Family Organization

Just found out this site. Interesting! :) Interracial Family Organization - supporting interracial/multicultural families...

Gimmie the Good Vibe

I was born in the wrong country. I'm pretty sure something got wrong when I was born. Why should I be here in Sweden. I can feel I dont belong here. For real.

Many reasons why.

Just got home from The Caribbean and Down South (The U.S.). And what did I get back home to - darkness, coldness, snow, cold rain, no leafs on threes, people that are so "inwards", no sunshine, no good vibe, just a empty feeling. And no, this is not a "holiday buzz". This is reality in northern part of Europe.

And I got back to a country with a very few black women. That sucks. Just skinny white chicks (LOL). I need a escape from here. For good. I feel deep deep inside - this aint the place from me. And I guess some of you will say: But Sweden is the no.1 country in questions of health care, education etc etc. I dont really care that much about that. To me, life is more than that. Aaaah, I can hear how stupid I sound now. But there are "backsides" of this life too. Trust me.

Anyhow, this one goes out to all of you who live far far from Sweden. I'm jealous of you guys. :)

I need the Good Vibe.
