Something about it

Hair. What is it about it? There's something special about it.  The black woman's hair have always fascinated me. I guess it has some to do with the diffrence compair to my own (boring) blond "white man's" hair! :) But there is something with the black woman's hair. I know all of you are thinking right now "This guy seems tothink everything bout the black women are beautiful" LOL ... but, yeah, I do think the black woman's hair is beautiful! And there is a special pride about the hair that I dont see white women are having (in the same way at least). And hey, as a creative person I can see the width of creativity in the great range of uniqueness in diffrent hair styles. From afro puffs, braids to short cut and so on and on! :)

Posts like these make me avoid blogs like this, even though I really enjoyed the pictures and some of the posts. I happen to have no preference "racially" because I have no problem loving everyone, thus I don't think that anyone is special based on their race/nationality/ethnicity/etc so I despise pride in these areas, because nobody really chose them.

The latency to be self-deprecating to oneself seems to peak in this post, and in the post about the Shades of Black, which starts ok and ends patronizing others to be proud of who they are. Please Swedish White boy, grow some balls and treat everyone equally. Until then, I'll be avoiding your blog despite the beautiful pictures all over it.

Conquistador: feel free to avoid anyone's blog you don't feel comfortable with. But it's another thing to come to somebody's house, where you're an invited guest, and tell them to redecorate to your tastes - BAD MANNERS! There's a different in being prejudiced about your race/ethnicity/characteristics and liking/feeling proud of them. The latter is totally permissible. I hope the blogowner keeps doing exactly what he is doing. Plenty of people are loving it. And those who aren't loving it are always welcome to stay away.

Liking ones characteristics and being happy with them is one thing, being proud with them is absolutely another. Being proud with characteristics that you didn't achieve/accomplish/choose is retarded in the same vain that KKK, (neo)nazis, black nationalists, and _______ (add color/nation/ethnicity) pride is retarded across the world.

Also, your argument about bad manners might be well meaning, but is also quite wrong. This isn't a private blog, just like a house might be. This is a public blog, and it is expected for all things said in public to receive criticism. It is up to you to shut your eyes if you don't like reading opposing points of views.

My point of self-deprecation still stands untouched.

Toorooluu! :p

Ok, I really was going to try to avoid saying this, but I just can't anymore.

What is wrong with black women? I mean really, what is wrong with some black women? Here we have a guy who starts a blog acknowledging the beauty of black women and he's getting attacked for that. OMG!!!

I am for one getting so sick and tired of American society and in other parts of the world acting as though black women are the ugliest women out there. Our beauty continues to get degraded and act like we are second or last to every other women. Our features are continously viewed as ugly. We are continuosly reminded that we don't have fair skin, long blonde hair, straight nose...etc.

And then when a man (other then a black man) appreciates those same features that others vilify, black women think its "weird" and just plain wrong...Honestly just go away.

I don't come to this site in order to have my beauty validated. I don't think that any woman should wait for her beauty to be validated by a man. I come here because inspite all the negative portrayls of black women, there are men that see through that and just like black women for who we are. For who God made us. I for one LOVE IT. LOL.

I love that there are men that love my natural hair, instead of saying it looks nasty and unkept. I love that there are men that love my dark skin and appreciate the variety of skin shades black have, as opposed to saying one skin shade makes a woman better than the next.

Some black women really just need to go with the flow and seriously and mean seriously stop over analysing why someone finds them attractive.

"Please Swedish White boy, grow some balls and treat everyone equally."

Its more then ok for someone to shout that they LOVE their blonde hair blue eyed girls...but are people really telling them that they need to treat everybody equally? Why is it that when a guy likes black women he is somewhat obligated to state that he likes all other women, but when people ONLY like white women its precived as normal?

*sigh* sorry for the long rant. lol.

P.S I hope this doesn't disrupt the flow of the blog. White B'woy, just want to let you know there are many people that are very supportive of your blog :)

Whoa there, you're waaaay off base.

"Its more then ok for someone to shout that they LOVE their blonde hair blue eyed girls...but are people really telling them that they need to treat everybody equally?"

My "treat everyone equally" comment was tied with the self-deprecation argument I made, which still isn't touched.

Try again.

In other words, if you like white men, you shouldn't let them present themselves and their culture as inferior because of their race, and vice versa.

But maybe you like your men to feel inferior.

Good job avoiding my point, yet again - that speaks volumes about you. By the way, I get email notifications when somebody replies on this post, so yes, I still avoid the rest of the blog.

Kala said...

Yeah, I'm really not trying to go back and forth with someone that has nothing positive to add to this blog. Thats not the point of the blog. You pretty much just brought the tone down. So, bye.

Yeah, that makes 0 sense after that huge message that you posted. :D

I love dread locks, I want some like lauryn hill in "everything is everything" it's SO beautiful! Too basd my mom is not feeling it

Conquistador said...

Dreadlocks or just locks are amazing. I got mine last year, and haven't looked back since. You'll overcome the parental disapproval one day, and when you do, get them!!!

Nobody knows if old age will be kind to their scalp, so that's why I got mine.

@Sabine Tenturier
What? That was the most random, rambling and nonsensical reply ever. I am not black, and if call for people to stop hating/deprecating themselves I am a jackass? What? What? What?

Also, Samia wanted locks like Lauryn Hill so by that fact, I believe that she is likely to be girl and not a guy.

Conquistador:
Don't you have somewhere to conquer? You are at the wrong site. There is nothing here to conquer. Go along and conquer some island and river out there.

I know that Samia is a man.

And as for you Conquistador, if you do not like Andrea's blog, there is nothing in this wide world you can do about it.
You are a full stamped, approved and sealed jackass.

Conquistador said...

Pffft. Hahahahha...
What a rational and complete sane answer. I don't reply to straw men arguments and libels, so in case you have any points or proofs i'd welcome your opinions. However personal or irrelevant comments are outside my definition of respect and dialogue.

It is pretty sad for the Black women to feel fulfilled by the "lustful cravings" of a representative of the group who enslaved your ancestors and made you feel inadequate in the first place. You do not need the endorsement of this lust driven individual to justify your existence. His grandfather felt the same way. That is why he kidnapped and imprisoned your grandmothers, so he could live out his sexual fantasies. You were queens when his folks removed you from your thrones and you will remain that even when this deceptive being ceases to exist. Don't believe the hype!
