Why? - an answer

I gotta answer this very interesting and deep comment I got from TBG.

"So, I stumbled upon it, and I was thinking...how do I like this whole idea? I've met and spoken with alot of white men who are enamored over black women. Its Soooo flattering. It is. What seems to disturb me about it, is that deep down within me, I feel like there is something wrong with being race specific if you dont know why you are.
When I ask white men why they like black women (the ones who do, anyway), i usually hear "Because they're beautiful". And when i ask what the essence of that beauty is, they tend to tell me thesame things along the lines of "they are outspoken"..."nice shape"..."sexually liberated"...blablabla.

Not to say those are your reasons, but thats what I usually hear.
And...it bothers me because that doesnt make a black woman.
As much as some folks like to think that black women are outspoken there are some who arent. There are some who dont have the hour-glass-big-backside-shape that so many people like to assume black women have. There are some, who dont fit that stereotype. And we see more and more of those these days. Which drives me to ask these people...

Could it be then, that you like a women that are sexually liberated, nicely shaped, and outspoken?

Could it be that the infatuation isnt with a black woman but what you think that they symbolize?

I just wonder.

Sorry to write up an epistle on your page.

Give my words a thought, will you? A response would be nice too. :)

These are really frankly speaking questions that I think are very important and interesting. My answer why "I like black women" is easy and still so very hard to answer. One thing, I can't deny even if some find it superficial, is that the black woman are the ultimate beauty, according to me. And I guess that is not a news. But still it is important - the attraction, the physical attraction. I know we all have our own personal attractions.

This might be a bit controversial - But to me the attraction for the black woman is nearly comparable to what for example a gay person feels for the same gender. Not that is is the same, at all, but this is the closest I could describe it right now. Even though I really can't describe it. And sometimes I think, "why do I have to have a real reason for what I like?" I mean, as long as I like something and if feels good inside of me, why do I need a better reason than feeling good?! :)

I agree with you to 100% - no one really fits into a sterotype. I don't like stereotypes and I beleive there are unique persons behind every single person out there - black or white.
So to me I do not like black women for that "they are sexual liberated, nicely shaped and outspoken" - cuase that is not the alone reality.

To explain deeper I can quote this (can't remember who said it):

"The Black Women have the ability to rise above severe adversity and triumph over challenge. Black women in the face of double jeopardy (being both black and female) have demonstrated a toughness to survive and a tenderness to inspire. I am in love with their elegance, perseverance and soulful style. They are all that!"

And after all, I do not tend to proclaim I have a complete answer to this, cuase it is really hard to describe. And I do not deny my blog and all this can have pieces of superficial substance. But this is my way to show the Black Woman some true love. My way to up-lift the Black Woman. In a media society like this we are living in, and with-out trying to be "political correct", I think it is very important to up-lift the Black Woman.

These are my thoughts for the moment! :)

Thanks for bringing this question up, very interesting!

Roots are "sexy"

I think it's so "sexy" (not sure if thats the best word to describe it, but...) with a woman that keep her african roots and the vibe. I mean, a lot of the black women, here in Sweden, tend to get a too western attitude and vibe. I really like a woman that keeps here tradition, roots and history close to her heart. But that's just my thoughts! :)

Take me away...

America, America, here I come! The 22nd of April is the day. New York City for the first time ever in my life. And I know Im gonna love it. The vibe & the people. As a matter of fact. Apart from that the most nice (as in polite) people are living in The States, that country are full of beautiful black women. Everywhere. Okey, I've only been to the southern states, but whoa! First time I got to Charlotte, NC, was like going into a dream. Beautiful black women everywhere. I know, I'm crazy! ;) It's almost insane I'm living in a country like Sweden. I mean, I've been to the Caribbean, the States, cities like Paris and what can I say... so many beautiful black women everywhere. Please take me away from this "white place"!

I'm dreamin'!

More Dark-Skin!

I know this is an issue that's been goin on for a long time. But I still can't understand it. I mean I can't really get it - why has our modern society made so many black women turn into white women. Get me right! I mean why do so many black women trying to look white? Is that some sort of ultimate ideal, for some? To be/look white? For a gut like me, this is so hard to understand. I mean, the defintion of True Beauty is spelled B.L.A.C.K. ;) We need more dark-skinned role models in this world, and less of the Beyoncé/Lil Kim-look-a-whiteys.

New Kid on the Block

I think it is so nice to see new african females taking over the music scene - one of them are the Gambia born singer Nancy Nanz. And she's a true beauty!

Miss Ghana Germany 2008

Just a big-up to the true beauty contest - "Miss Ghana Germany". The beauty of the Ghana ladies in Germany! More of those in every single country... world-wide... imagine Miss Ghana Sweden, Miss Ghana Italy, Miss Nigeria Norway, Miss Uganda Denmark, Miss Congo Holland... could continue all day... lol

Anyway. I think it's just love to give props to the real beauty - the black woman!

Miss Ghana Germany 2008 was Ms. Amy Ceder from Stuttgart!
Just listen to her motivation:
"Because I'm proud of my Ghanian heritage and think this pageant is an excellent way to promote a positive image and awareness of the african culture through the beauty and intelligence of their women. Futhermore it's very important to provide young black girls with beautiful, strong and most importantly intelligent black role models, who they can look up to and identify themselves with." AMEN! ;)

Or I can simply say as one of the other contestants, Ruby Commey, said:
"...because Ghana has the beautiful girls"

Sub-Sahara

A friend of mine just put my taste very well - she said "your taste with black women are very 'sub-Saharian'". And I must agree, the women South of Sahara are very very beautiful when it comes to african women! :) Do I sound superficial or superficial?! :D

It's a pity

I don't care if some people think the total opposite - I think Tanya Stephens is a true beauty! :) Big-up to you! "It's a pity" - One of the most vibeful songs ever!

Yes, one pic of me!

Reminisce the Beauty: Cleopatra

I was just thinking, where did the three sisters of Cleopatra go? Long time, no see from Cleo, Yonah & Zainam Higgins. One Hit Wonder in 1998? Or will they return again?! At least I had a secret crush on all three of them back in late 90's... :)

Lovely ad

Just an Ad I love. Or maybe I should say loved, cuase the swedish mobile phone company Neonode has now gone bankrupt and does not exist in the same way anymore. But still I love their ad for the N2-phone! Big-up for the beauty of Ads!

Be proud. Be Natural.

Something that been goin' on in my mind for many years now: Why do so many african/black women use and add "fake" hair? To me that is totally non-understandable. I mean the african woman has got the most beautiful natural hair anyone can get on the earth. So why add this "fake hair" trying to get the more straight hair, like the white woman's?

So I'm sayin: Be proud of your Natural Style! :)

Whatever happened to Malou?

I wonder whatever happened to Malou Hansson - she became "Miss Sweden" year 2002. Long time no see. But I guess she's hanging around the brats in East Stockholm nowadays. Any how, I thought it was so amazing, back in 2002, that Malou became the first "dark-skinned" Miss Sweden!
