She just looks scary to me, especially with those eyes.

The fake hair and blue contacts seem like a bit of self-hatred to me. Not really the look of a black woman who loves her own natural beauty. This choice is disappointing.

She is quite striking, a real head-turner. However, I agree with the first comment, I do not like blue contacts on black women. It is garish to me, as I prefer the natural darker eyes. That kind of thing distracts from her natural beauty. If I wanted blue eyes, I'd be more into white women, you know?

Although I agree with Anon about the contacts making her look scary, I'd just wish folks would lay off with the "self-hatred" comments.

Every woman that I know regardless of race has changed up her look from time to time. We've been playing dress-up since learning to walk. Women with curly hair want straight hair, women with straight hair want curly, women with short want long and vice-versa. Fair skin women try to achieve dark skin with make-up enhancements or the tanning booth.

For the record, weaves are worn by all women of all races for many reasons-some vanity, some medical and yeah I'm sure you may find one or two that may some self-hate issues. But nine times out of ten, she's changing up because she likes it or she's doing it to please a male friend/husband.

Furthermore men play dress-up as well. They wear toupees, get hair plugs and dye their hair. Men (particular men of color)pencil, paint and draw in hairlines, mustaches and even sideburns! Men also get butt implants, penile enlargements and work out everyday to achieve a look they think women will love. Men also try to make women think that they can "go all night" and take Viagro by the shit loads! I wouldn't say that the men who partake in these enhancements hate themselves. I'd just mind my own business and keep it moving.

Just because a woman of color plays dress-up from time to time doesn't mean she hates herself. For all we know, her boyfriend/husband may like blue contacts on her.

Stop assuming and let's start giving our women of color a break!

in all honesty, africans have the most diverse genetics. It's not at all impossible for a dark skin black woman to obtain blue eyes.

Those aren't contacts that is a procedure called New Color Iris. Very dangerous indeed. She needs those implants taken out. I can tell by the reddish look in the whites of her eyes.

I agree this is black beauty
I disagree with the comment about the hair
I am a Latina who has real curly hair
And the only reason I relax it and straighten is due to the fact that curly hair is hard to manage
With straight hair it doesn't get tangled and is easier to style
But I love curly hair on any woman an day
