Psychology Today: Stop Publishing Racist & Sexist Articles - Sign the Petition!

Please sign the petition against the article entitled "Why Are Black Women Less Physically Attractive Than Other Women?", it takes less than 60 seconds!

Quoting from
In an attempt to defend previous publications, Kanazawa wrote, “If what I say is wrong (because it is illogical or lacks credible scientific evidence), then it is my problem. If what I say offends you, it is your problem.”
Well, as Khadijah Britton of Scientific American put it, “Satoshi Kanazawa has a problem.” So does Psychology Today.

i just don't understand.....what is it about us, black women, that people just love to hate? why us? not saying that if this was an article defaming another race of women that would make it less vile. but why are we always seen as ugly and masculine? not many asian men like us anyways, so i'm not surprised that this kind of article was written by an asian. that's why i have to thank you for your blog. i know this is something that you don't have to do. but it's so nice that someone somewhere in the world feels that the beauty of black women deserves to be recognized and honored. THANK YOU!!!!

I think it's got something to do with the looks of African-style women being more intense than those of Euro/Asian women. It's both a blessing and a curse: your worshippers and your haters are all more vocal about you.

Take this blog here. Do you know of any sites made by white men where they're proudly announcing their love for white or Asian women to the whole world in the same way as Andreas has been doing for black women for three years in a row? That is the blessed part of you being a black woman--your admirers openly worship you like a goddess.

On the flip side, you're also going to get things like that article in Psychology Today, because your haters are more vocal about you too. This can show itself in many other ways--not long ago I was in a public place where a very dark-skinned woman was holding a very light-skinned baby. You should have seen the faces of the white women around her!

I think this is just life for the black woman--your looks provoke stronger feelings than the looks of other women can. Black women get to experience both highs and lows the other women of the world rarely get to feel because of this.

@ anonymous...why do you even bother worrying about this article or the writer? Asian men dont like us? why do we want them to like us and why should we like them either? what human being in their right mind would want to date an asian? haha.Asian men and women are the least attractive race on the planet! No striking beauty and they all look and smell like aliens gosh! The guy needs to buy a mirror if he doesnt have one.

Signed the petition. Thanks, Andreas.

@A sagittarian's world

Your comment is just as bad as Satoshi Kanazawa's article. Thanks for stereotyping and dehumanizing the entire Asian race. No, really. That's really going to help improve race relations.

I understand how you feel. I raged too when I read the article. But being just as racist in return will only make matters worse in the long run.

(If I sound b!tchy, it's because I'm in a snit as I'm one of those human beings who would want to date an Asian, who in my opinion are no more unattractive, smelly or alien-looking than any other race. Geez. How do people even come up with statements like that?)

Do you guys not realize this was from a survey of men and women, of all races, and they tested what was preferred based over the period of the tests.
It wasnt saying in a literal since that all black women are ugly, it is talking about a survey done of a bunch of people. Atleast protest something liek how women are treated in Iran or something like that you fools truly believe it matters what some whacko says?

A sagittarian's world what you wrote is no better than what this asian wrote for Psychology Today.

I've long stopped worrying about what people think of me as a black woman. I hold myself upright and I look good. Damn you if you don't like how I look and how I go about doing so. We're hated on because people want what we've got. I haven't met a hater that didn't want what I had. Whether it's good looks, body type, attention that's being recieved, etc.

Other women mimick us, but they will never be us, no matter how hard they try. If they got black women in the back of their mind 24/7 it must mean we're doing something right.

First, I love your blog. First time visitor. As a black student leaving in the UK, I have to say that I have been really shocked by the views that some people (not all) feel about black women. People always feel justified to comment or make all sorts of stupid claims. How the hell does a top university like UCL let such an article be associated with them. I am a clinical psychologist myself and if you understand anything about research you know that a survey is the weakest method. So branding an entire race of females as ugly is unjustified, unscientific and downright wrong.

Actually as the controversy progressed further, it was revealed that the author of the article misinterpreted the statistics. Thus his conclusions were untrue.

In any case, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Black women are just fine exactly as we are.

Hold your heads up, girls!
